It’s Time to Act!

I’m so conflicted, angry, sad and very disappointed with society. All this week it seems like most blogs I am currently subscribe too want to voice outrage about these terrorist attacks.

I can understand and feel those same emotions myself. What I don’t understand is how people are putting ALL MUSLIMS in that terrorist category..

I thought we were a society of evolutionists that didn’t eat up what the media gave us all the time..

What happen with doing research talking to your local mosque to learn the real teachings of Islam. Meet Muslims and see how involved they are in giving charity, and trying to help their communities.

I’m also frustrated at MUSLIMS! They are keeping quiet! Yes we are being prosecuted and there have also been MANY attacks on US Muslims in the US and around the world because of these damn Terrorist! And the media has not put those events on television either!

It’s time for us to speak up! To show society that Most of us are not what we are being portrayed to be.

I for one am a revert to Islam, if you read my bio it states it there. I spend about 7 to 10 years with out believing in God or a religion. The few that I studied didn’t make sense to me. Either they viewed others as sinners if they didn’t believe or practice as they did. Others actually new that you couldn’t judge another person and accept a person for who they are, they truly studied God’s words and lived by them. None made me feel like Islam does.

Yes Islam is a very structured religion:

1. We have to pray 5 times a day EVERYDAY

2. We are suppose to wear modest clothes ( and even that is varied by each individual Muslim)

3. We are to eat meat that is Halal ( prayed over and killed in a specific manner). There are even some meats that are forbidden to eat.

4. We are to give Zakat ( 10% ) of your income yearly to help those in needs.

5. We are to do RAMADAN (Fast) for a month and that is for a spiritual cleansing and to help understand others that don’t have we have.

Those are the FUNDAMENTALS but there are others rules in the QURAN not the Shariah Law that we are to follow.

We Muslim’s lets get away from our niche communities and truly involve ourselves in our Non-Muslims communities. The Quran says that we accept others to be accepted as well.

Maybe if we start showing society that we as a Whole are a peaceful religion these terrorist will not have the power to hijack our religion anymore. Maybe society will stop being in a tunnel vision and our governments will be able to target TERRORIST.

I’m sorry for the lives that are being lost. I’m sorry for children that are growing up to become monsters and have no chance in truly knowing ALLAH (SWT) and all of his glory.

I’m sorry that my children will be born and be prosecuted by ignorance and stupidity. I’m sorry that they will live in a Free nation but not know Freedom!

  2. I think why some of us are quiet is because no matter how loud we yell that these acts are not Islamic, the harder the people we talk to plug their ears. Those who believe all Muslims are terrorists are not rational people who will easily be convinced anyway. The rational ones have done their research and know the truth.

      I can understand that reasoning, I just truly dont believe it is working. Instead more people are starting to distrust and hate Muslims. Its also not about talking but to show the good as a small community do. We kerp burying ourselves within our own little world. How about involving ourselves with the community.. Already a few mosque around the states organizes fairs and events with other Non-Muslims religious groups.. Growing awareness is always a begining then staying dormant..

      Its about showing and not giving up. It starts with a whisper.. It might take time but it can be done..

      As you can see a blogger already mentioned gratitude and ecpressed how he wished more Muslims would speak out… Do why not??

      1. Actually, I think a lot of rational, educated people believe that Muslims do support terrorists.

        Muslims really need to speak out at every opportunity and explain that their religion is peaceful. There are too many terrorists who claim to be doing the will of Allah. There are too many Muslim clerics saying things that frighten and alarm Westerners. There are too many Muslims in countries like Iran that look like extremists.

        When I hear a “moderate” British Muslim say that he loves the Prophet more than his own children, that frightens me very much. What would a man like that do for his religion? What wouldn’t he do?

        We need to hear that Islam is peaceful, because many, many people in Europe and the USA aren’t sure if it really is.

        1. Thank for your comment Mr. Steve Morris. I couldn’t have said it any better.

          Sometimes Imans (clerics) say things that even frighten me. Unfortunately there are still to many that mix their cultures with the religion. I all the prophets (blessings be upon them). That I love them more then anyone else.. No. We are taught that they human as us, made mistakes as us and as such we don’t love them or out them ilon a pedestal.. That we struce to follow their message especially the last prophet yes we do.

          But we don not put or love anyone higher or equal to Allah (SWT). He is the only one, the gracious there is no on that can be comparable to him.

          To me love for Allah (SWT) is different from the love i have for my family.. Yes my love to follow his command is higher but never will my love for him make me go and kill or scation innocent killings.

          Hopefully i was able to explain a little bit more about Islam..

      2. I totally agree with you about integrating more with people and coming out of our shells. That works better than shouting from the rooftops that Muslims are not all terrorists. I do the little I can in my own way and encourage others to do so.
        And don’t worry, Sis. You did not offend me in any way. I was just stating my opinion 🙂 ❤

  3. Thank you for sharing this. In Europe we hear very few Muslims condemning the terrorists. I don’t know if that’s because few are saying anything, or if the news is not reporting them.

    More than a million people marched in France to show their disgust with the terrorists. It would be good if a million Muslims could do the same.

    1. Insha’Allah more Muslims speak out. A religion that teachs peace does not teach hatered, conflict or war. Insha’Allah more Muslims speak out..

      It has to start with a whisper before it is heard. The whisper is there but to me its too slow..
