Quote from the Holy Quran, Al-Hujuraat (49:12)

O you who believe! Avoid much suspicions, indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is the One Who accepts repentance, Most Merciful.

A verse that can really make us think… Why is it that even though we know its wrong we still gossip and talk behind other peoples back. Here is a verse from the Holy Quran, in Allah’s words to not do this. Still most (yes I will include myself) of us do this, some more then others.

When it is done by family it hurts worst. See people think that you don’t understand them or realize the person they are when they gossip to you. Yes I have had plenty of people that gossip to me not with me.

In them doing that I realize that when my back is turn most likely they are doing it to me. When others ask me my opinion of others or to express my opinion of others decision I try my best to watch my wording. I have never intentionally talked about a person without the person that is being talked about knows how I feel about them.

Yes that is the type of person I am. If I feel something about a person, they know it because I have already expressed it. If I express those same feelings or words to someone else I truly feel that I am not gossiping or backbiting.

Reading this verse makes me realize that even if the person knows how I feel I still do not have the right to tell someone else unless they are present.

Lets take this verse and reflect truly weigh our thoughts when talking to others..

Until Next Time,
LK
